Who We Are?

My serious involvementt with the game goes back almost 40 years ago when we opened our first pool room. We still operate three rooms in southern Ontario and at one point had a fourth. I have run thousands of tournaments, hundreds of leagues and more pool related fundraisers and networking events than I can count.

I’ve been involved in cue sports since the age of 12 when I started playing snooker. 2026 marks my 50th year of involvement in all capacities (competing, organizing, promoting, room ownership, development) of cue sports.

I have been a competitive pool player for over 28 years now. I have a National Title (Amateur) and many accomplishments. Recently we purchased what was once Big Wigs and now we own Big Break Billiards in Newmarket. I hope to use the pool hall and my board seat to grow the game, especially for the juniors

I honestly can't remember a time when billiards wasn't part of my life. My mother was an avid pool player, and she introduced me to the game at a very young age. Some of my earliest memories are of spending weekends at tournaments, often falling asleep under the pool tables while waiting for the events to finish. Those experiences sparked a lifelong passion for the sport and the community that surrounds it.

Over the years, that passion has grown far beyond simply playing. I have been actively involved with Cue Sports Nova Scotia for more than ten years, serving in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles dedicated to growing the game throughout the province. For approximately the past five+ years, I have also been involved with the Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association (CBSA), working to support the sport on a national level.

Volunteerism has always been at the heart of my involvement. I dedicate countless hours to organizing and supporting tournaments across Atlantic Canada and regularly volunteer at national championships whenever additional help is needed. Whether it's tournament administration, event setup, player coordination, or simply ensuring events run smoothly, I believe in giving back to the sport that has given me so much.

One of my proudest accomplishments has been establishing and growing a junior cue sports program in Nova Scotia. Recognizing the need to develop the next generation of players, I created opportunities for young athletes to learn, compete, and experience the values of sportsmanship, respect, and community. Since its inception, the program has seen tremendous growth, introducing many youth to cue sports while helping develop competitive junior players who now represent Nova Scotia at provincial and national events. Seeing these young athletes gain confidence and succeed has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey.

For me, billiards has always been more than a game. It has built lifelong friendships, created opportunities to serve my community, and allowed me to help shape the future of cue sports in Canada. I remain committed to growing the sport, supporting players of all ages, and ensuring the next generation has the same opportunities that inspired me from my earliest memories around the pool table.

I started playing pool about eight years ago in a local league and quickly fell in love with the game. I’ve been playing competitively for the past 4–5 years, traveling to provincial events over the last three. My journey has taken me to Corner Bank for a tournament, to Newfoundland in 2025 for the Amateur, and I’m heading to Sydney for the 2026 Amateur. I’m loving this experience and all the amazing people I’ve met who share the same passion for the sport.

I’m currently in my second year as an NBBA board member and was honored to receive the 2025 President’s Award for my hard work on the board. My focus is to support anyone with questions about the organization or upcoming events, represent the NBBA to the best of my ability, help run smooth tournaments, and grow our community.

In 2013 I moved to a new city and a friend from high school was the manager at a local pool hall. They invited me to join their local fun league to meet new people. My first year our team won and that lead me to discovering a passion for the game. I joined our provincial association and started competing(losing a lot) but saw so much value in having events where new or lower skilled players had access to play against top players that I ran for a spot on our provincial board and spent 4 years planning events, building relationships and working with other organizers to promote as many through the province as possible. In the NBBA we secured major sponsors and grew the Provincial Tour. I pretty quickly started competing at Nationals with 2nd and 3rd place finishes. With exposure to events at the national level I wanted to continue being involved in the community so I was elected to the CBSA board and spent 2 terms trying to better the game in Canada. 2017 I took a 5 year break, returning at the end of 2022 to win the Eastern Canadian 9 ball Championship (ladies division) following it up with 2 provincial titles in 2023. In 2025 I returned to the NBBA as secretary/treasurer and we're doing our best to grow the game in NB. These days we're averaging 70 players per event and upwards of 90 for our top turnouts. I still get beat up on in our super leagues with a Fargo nearing 500, fighting to learn everything I can from the best players our city has to offer.

I actually got my start in billiards when I was 13 years old, and things moved pretty fast from there—by 16, I had officially turned pro. My competitive roots go back to winning the Junior World Championship in 2008 and 2010, which really set the stage for my career.

Since then, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to compete at the highest level of the sport. To date, I’m a 23-time Canadian Champion in the Women’s Open Division and have represented Canada at over 15 Women’s World Championships.

Outside of playing, I’m really passionate about giving back to the community and helping the next generation. I founded the Jack Bryant Fundraiser, an annual event that helps cover travel and tournament expenses for junior players heading to the World Championships. Competing at that level gets expensive, so this program is all about taking that financial stress off the families so the kids can just focus on playing.

I’m also currently serving on the board for the WPBA (Women’s Professional Billiards Association), where I get to help shape the future of the women's pro tour. For me, the journey started with a love for the game as a teenager, but today it’s just as much about supporting the sport and the people in it as it is about winning titles.

I was first introduced to the game of snooker when he was a young boy and watching Stephen Hendry pot everything in sight. Besides the brilliance of Hendry, I was fascinated by the commentators, so much that I would wind up my friends with laughter on the schoolyard by performing the calming English commentary the accompanied the Snooker.

For the past 9 years I have been busy promoting Snooker in BC and putting on various events. In addition, I have commentated on various Snooker events in North and South America and even Ireland.

Recently, last May at the Snooker World Championship in Sheffield, I won the World Media Snooker Championship. Hopefully that will inspire more Canadians to pick up a cue.

I have been an integral part of Canada’s cue sports community for over six years. A passionate and accomplished snooker player, Achievement - Ontario Heyball Champion 2025. Two-time runner-up finishes at the Ontario Snooker Championship, National Snooker League Champion, multiple major memorial titles, and over 100 tournament victories across Canada.

Beyond competing, I have played a key role in promoting and developing the sport, having organized more than 50 snooker and pool events nationwide. My dedication to growing cue sports in Canada led me to establish The Q Masters, a premier snooker academy in Brampton focused on nurturing serious and upcoming talent.
